"It's On"

im sitting in the national prayer center in washington dc {specifically, on capitol hill} and feeling the weight of the world. today is one tense day here on capitol hill. the economy seems to be holding on only by a thread and we're waiting and more importantly PRAYING for congress to stabilize, what seems to be, an uncertain future for the monday markets.

these are the times we remember...GOD is solely in control. government is essential...but not our source, GOD is!

read pastor ken's blog to follow all that's going on in our nation's capitol...RIGHT NOW.

Song of the Day :: Queen//Under Pressure {dedicated to the "do nothing" congress, cuz they've got to "do something" by the end of the day} ;)

after a long day in dc...

...i can relate dad, this is how i feel after a long day on the hill too.

happy anniversary...

so, yesterday was my cousins 8th anniversary. we're all in washington dc this week and i thought i'd show you in pictures how kirsten and i spent HER anniversary...

we first ran into obama...kirsten appears to be getting sucked into the "obama nation"...but she actually just didn't want to die.

i, on the otherhand, had some choice words for the obamanator.

we got some lunch and did some fun downtown shopping...

kirsten was doing some "simplygrovesque" shopping at West Elm while i got bored and read...

we stopped at starbucks for the third time...kirsten got yelled at by the barista. oops...they don't like it when you make ANY modifications to your drink.

we then spent the evening enjoying the various monuments and tourist spots of dc...

we gave some honor...where honor was due.

then Evangeline caught up with us and apparently wanted to eat kirsten's delicious hair...

good times celebrating Kirsten and Shane's Anniversary...hey guys, wanna do it again next year?! ;)

oh...and Shane was there too...

campaign fashion...

there are many reasons to be interested in the presidential campaign... but if politics isn't your thing; no worries, cause the fashion being sported by Cindy McCain is enough to keep you interested. she's sure a fashionista...i love it!

thanks MATT...

I now feel informed to make a decision based on your premiere logic....WHAT?!?!

Is it scary Matt? Is it absurd? Is it really that terrifying? You're right...we better make sure the tough questions get asked, Governor Palin, we are in a midst of an ideological war in the Middle East, our economy needs a boost, energy seems to be a priority issue for most Americans, and we're facing the worst moral clash in US history. We'll get to all these; but first for the most important question: Do you believe there were dinosaurs here 4000 years ago? Sound stupid? That's because it is...

[oh piper]

Piper Palin [Governor Sarah Palin's youngest daughter] takes care of her little brother.

My parents call her "little Tracy." Maybe its because she encourages her OLDER siblings to stand up when her mother introduces them. Oh little Piper...I know what its like. Don't let your siblings say your bossy. remember, they made you that way. Right, Krist and Rachelle?!

::::::::yay for oatmeal

Thank you Starbucks...you've now given me a happy and healthy morning...

Thanks to the new "healthy" breaky options given by Starbucks, I no longer have to gag when smelling those pseudo breakfast sandwiches when I'm trying to order my morning latte. I now get to eat a yummy bowl of oatmeal...

Ahhh...mornings just got even better!

..abbreves vacay rules..

"vacay tracy"

1 :: sleep til noon (MST time)

2 :: don't take a shower or get ready...brush teeth out of common courtesy for the other vacayers tho

3 :: wear uniform {same outfit or a version of the same outfit the entire time}

4 :: eat bad...

5 :: work out more than normal cuz your eating bad

6 :: read 6 hours a day

7 :: drink lots of coffee while reading 6 hours a day

8 :: listen to the same album on your ipod for the 6 hours you're reading, the 35 mins jogging, and the time it took to write this post

9 :: ignore the Olympics cuz your still mad at the US relay teams... Seriously...learn to pass the baton.

basically, this was my day...

Album of the day :: John Mayer// Where the Light Is (love the acoustic set..brilliant stuff)

{{Starbucks WR}}

Our fam left Wednesday for a much needed mini vacay. We're having a "relaxing" time...which is just how the parentals like it. I, on the other hand, prefer an extremely active and lightly scheduled getaway, but its all good cuz the laughs have been constant and intense...

First big laugh of vacay...
Dad, AKA grumpy grump driver, wouldn't let us stop at Starbucks on our way out of town. Apparently, we didn't have time. So, we stopped at the local Moxie Java right outside Krist and Kelly's subdivision (btw, it was their grand opening...we strolled in at 6:30am...needless to say they were pretty pumped to see peeps). It gave me the caffeine I needed but didn't quite satisfy.

So, fortunately for all...Rachelle needed to stop a few hours later to feed Kenzie Poo. Dad, less grumpy grump driver, pulled off the freeway in LaGrand, OR. To find the most AMAZING of sights.

THE WORLDS LARGEST STARBUCKS sign...

Where's Kelly??? Can you spot her...

That's not the best part...they also have the WORLDS SMALLEST STARBUCKS sign...
Betcha can spot Kelly now!!

After we had a good laugh we went inside to get our drinks and shared with the nice Baristas that we were pretty excited to see the WORLDS LARGEST and WORLDS SMALLEST Starbucks signs. We were informed that they received many complaints from patrons who had difficulty locating the famous coffee house due to the unusually small sign next to the drive thru. So, the antidote...build a ridiculously large sign so it would be missed by no one.

Here's Kelly showing us how the crane lifted the glorious sign to its reigning record. Well, its actually not confirmed as the World's largest. But the employees did mention its thought to be the largest in the Northwest. Ha! Oh road trips...
